1892

Heinrich Wissner founded his company in Mehlis with 3 employees. His first products were bell bowls and doorbells; later, bicycle bells and stamped parts for bicycles were added.

1898

Wissner AG founded with up to 775 employees

1933

Merger with the "United Thuringian Metal Goods Factory AG"

1948

Establishment of VEB Meteor-Werk with up to 900 employees (amalgamation of various companies from Zella-Mehlis) manufacturing binders, later articulated chains, roller chains and spare parts for agricultural machinery.

1968

Acquisition of fine blanking presses for the production of chain links for roller chains

1990

Founding of “Meteor Tools and Machine Elements GmbH”

1992

Founding of Meteor Umformtechnik GmbH & Co. KG by Mr. Reinhold Mendritzki

1997

Under the leadership of Mr. Werner Keßler, the company completely focused on the automotive sector, and initial major investments paved the way to the present day
